Featuring one of the most popular female vocalists in the state of Maine, The Allison Ames Band is quickly becoming the “must see” band of the year! You may already be familiar with Allison as she is a seasoned vocalist having formerly fronted the extremely popular, award-winning band, Allison Ames and The Flames. Allison’s new band features alumni from the “Flames”, Jay Lundstrom on keyboards, Tom Morelli on guitar, and Jeff Budge on bass, as well as veteran drummer, Decran Gulesian.
Having been selected as a featured drum soloist for the ’73 All Student USA Tour of Europe, Jay spent many years as a jazz drummer. As a member of Allison Ames and the Flames, Jay won a DECMA award for best keyboardist in the state of Maine. He currently plays the keyboards in The Allison Ames Band. He was a founding member of Bad
Habit, a well-known Bangor area band that opened for Joan Jett and John Cafferty, and a member of popular Portland area bands including Raizin’ Cane and the Sofa Kings.
Decran has over 30 years of experience as a professional musician. As a studio musician, Decran was hand-picked by Rick Pinette, front man and writer for the band Oak, to drum for One Of A Kind Productions, Decran also drums for Nashville & Indie recording artist Danny Harper and 9-time top-ten hit artist Johnny Tillotson. Decran’s live career has included several bands that toured New England and Canada as well as local Bangor bands and he has shared the stage with several national artists including: Rick Pinette, Men with No Hats, Ray Charles, Joan Jett,The Outlaws, Marshall Tucker, Charlie Daniels, Lee Greenwood, Foghat, John Cafferty, Bill Chinnock, Johnny Tillotson and White Lion.
Tom began playing guitar at age 7 and is well known as one of the most talented guitar players in Maine, having been voted Guitar Player of the Year by DECMA. As lead guitarist for the extremely popular band Bootleg, Tom and the band opened for Sawyer Brown, Charlie Daniels, Jerry Lee Lewis and The Forrester Sisters. Tom also handles some lead and baritone vocals for The Allison Ames Band.
Jeff toured the country with his father in the nationally known bluegrass band, Bluegrass Supply Company, playing upright and electric bass before joining Allison Ames and the Flames. During that time he was twice named Bass Player of the Year for the state of Maine and earned top awards for his vocal work and harmony singing. Jeff also played with Rockin’ Ron and the New Society Band for many years and has opened for Bad Company, Dr. Hook and The Platters.
Allison has been voted Female Vocalist of the Year by the Downeast Country Music Association and, along with “The Flames”, won the Wrangler Country Showdown and appeared in Nashville and Las Vegas. While in Nashville she appeared at the Nashville Palace, The Carousel Club and was an extra in a Vince Gill music video! Allison has opened for Tom Wopat, Clinton Gregory, Diamond REO and Asleep at the Wheel.
